How would you describe a perfect vacation day? This topic has been appealed within the blogger parade from “Ferngeweht”. Well, if I needed to define a perfect vacation day, my thoughts would jump directly to Manolo Island in Fiji. Waking up with the sun and the sound of the waves and knowing that all you have to do today is jumping in your favourite summer clothes, enjoy delicious food with oceanview, escape the sun while rest under huge palm tree, get a refreshment at the beach and some fresh coconut water. All this comes to my mind, when I think back to the beautiful little island in Fiji, which was like a paradise.

After we spend some days in Viti Levu, Fijis main island, we catched the ferry to one of the little islands around. It is difficult to decide on which island you should go, because they all seems to be stunning and they all offer some great resorts. After a little research we ended up with the Lomani Island Resort* on Malolo Island, which you can reach after a 30 min boat drive from Denarau. When you go by ferry you will notice, that the water becomes more and more beautiful blue and the green huge palm trees from the island convey such a calming and dreamlike vibe, that you can’t wait to finally arrive on “your” island.

Once the boat reaches the landing stage, a warm “Bula” and a traditional welcome singing are awaiting you. As mentioned, we stayed in Lomani Island Resort*, a beautiful resort, which is only for adults. After arriving, a cool fresh coconut water, which we enjoyed with the view over the wonderful facility, made our check in even more perfect. The rooms have been very clean and bright, the food was really good, the staff was super friendly and the resort beach was just beautiful. I can highly recommend this resort, it was such a relaxing and positive place.

After you enjoyed your morning at the pool, you can also do some activities, such as snorkelling (please be more aware of the sharp reef as I was, can still see some scars on my feet… did I mention I am very bad in water activities? How can you pay attention to your breath, the waves and the underwater world at the same time?), visit cloud 9, rent a bike and drive along the island. In the evening you should’t miss to join the Kava ceremony, where you can try the national drink “kava”of Fiji made of the plant of the same name. The non alcoholic drink has controversial effects, while some say it may make you high or changes your behaviour, I didn’t notice anything at all. After all participants sit in a circle on the ground, a big bowl of the Kava drink is prepared by the ceremony leader and the drink is filled in small cups, which are then brought to the guests to try. Even the drink reminded me a bit of dishwasher, it was a nice experience 🙂
It was pleasure to stay here and we really had such a good and relaxing time! I can highly recommend the Resort, which will definitely has everything you need for a perfect day 🙂
