Finally I can strike off Hawaii from my bucket list. It’s always a challenge to visit a place, which has the best reputation and which you know from so many movies and pictures. Hoping all the beautiful pictures of the island in mind are reality, we decided to travel to Hawaii in June 2018. After we closed our chapter in New Zealand, the first stop of our journey was Honolulu, Waikiki.
We used the first couple of days to enjoy the sun, which was so good after those rainy and grey weeks in Auckland before. Our beautiful hotel offered everything we needed to start our vacation perfectly: pool, balcony with ocean views and the cutest receptionist.

Honolulu, Hawaii
Waikiki is a great spot to calm down, strolling along the promenade, get some summer tan at the beach and for those, who need some more activity, I can recommend the Diamond Head Crater Hike, which offers nice views over the island.

However in my opinion you shouldn’t waste too much time in touristy Waikiki, but discover the white sand beaches and stoney coast-landscape in the northern part of the island. While driving around the volcano mountains, you can spot breathtaking nature. Next to O’ahu, Hawaiii has even more beautiful islands. We decided to travel to Kauai as well and felt in love with this awesome place on earth.
