White sand beaches, a turquoise ocean and lonely places – that’s how I would describe the Keppel Island. As more or less not so famous hotspot along the East Coast of Australia, the Keppel Island are very charming with its beautiful silence and dreamy beaches.
After only 30 minutes you can reach the Keppel Islands by Ferry and when you touch the white sand with your toes after arrival, you know this will be a great trip! There are several beaches around the island. As we only had a 5 hour stay, we visited Longbeach (40 minutes walk from Ferry) and Monkey beach (30 min walk from Ferry). After only 5 minutes of walking, I got a blister on my feet. How should I survive this day? (Did I mention I am a dramaqueen?). But luckily I bought some underwater-shoes for possible snorkel activities (which never happened) and those shoes saved my day! When we arrived at Longbeach after this stressful walk, we relaxed on the beach towel and enjoyed this lonely beach with its awesome sand and great clear water. Jumping around with no weirdos watching you is here a must do 🙂

Only 10 minutes away from the Longbeach you can reach the Monkey Beach. Through its close reef it is especially popular for all the underwater fans. Instead of this underwater thing, I decided to relax at the beach. Of course I felt asleep and got sunburned. – but he, once its getting brown, my skin will look fabulous 🙂

You need about 30 minutes from the Monkey Beach to the Ferry Pier. You can choose between the longer way via Long Beach (50 minutes) or the shorter one through the woods. Brave as fuck we decided to go the shorter one. Well what should I say – if men start with leading the way…. Of course we ended up in the middle of nowhere, in the hottest afternoon sun and without any water and probably 100 snakes around us. But I rescued us and we even made it even on time back to the ferry. What a dramatic day 🙂
