I found my paradise in Kauai

When you are in Hawaiii, you definitely should visit more than one island. We decided to visit Kauai next to O’ahu and it was the greatest decision! Driving with the rented car from the airport to the hotel, we already were flashed by the breathtaking nature around us. While wild chickens are flitting between the palm trees, your eyes always get patched by the giant volcano mountains.

 Although Kauai is not that big, there is a lot to see! One of our highlights was the boat trip to Napali Coast. After we drove with the small boat along the coast, accompanied by groups of dolphins, we suddenly stopped in front of the Napali Coast, which looks just studding when the morning sun shines through the mountains and reflects in the quite and Turks blue ocean. This moment was definitely one of the most beautiful moments ever, with no exaggeration. We enjoyed the peaceful silence from the boat and also while snorkelling with the turtles. The Napali Coast is usually not accessible and therefore you get the best views without any tourist groups. This beautiful place served also for some Hollywood movies, such as Pirates of the Caribbean. The boats drive was quite turbulent, therefore we used our GoPro, which explains lower quality of the images.

But Kauai even has much more to show. One more highlight was Waimea Canyon with its incredible giant gorges. Especially the Pu’u O Kila hike was unforgettable. The trail is characterised from red soil, which leads you the way along the volcano mountain. The fresh air coming from the clouds around the mountain was a perfect cool down on this hot summer day, even the lookout were hidden behind the white clouds.

When in Kauai, you really need to rent a car and drive along the coast to Princessville. A beautiful village with spectacular views to the mountains. On the way you will drive through the place called Kapaa. It’s a perfect spot to enjoy a good coffee and the hippie charme of this place.
